Ardmaddy to Degnish Walk

On Sunday 24th April, John Wright a kind hearted neighbour, agreed to lead the walk to raise funds for the orphans. We met at Ardmaddy at 10.30am. There were 18 walkers and 2 dogs! after the send off PJ and I drove to Degnish with the picnic lunch to join Alasdair and Sally who were busy erecting the Gazebo and preparing the ground for the picnic. A choice of two soups, bacon and sausage rolls as well as a veggie option were on offer, followed by pineapple and watermelon slices. Feeling refreshed, the walkers set off once again and we met them with tea/coffee and home baking back at Ardmaddy. It was a dry, sunny day and everyone enjoyed the scenery and John's local tales during the walk. Thank you to all those who supported the orphans and the many who helped organise the day. An amazing £655 was raised which will be great for helping to feed and educate the orphans.
